Bwire Dreams of becoming a surgeon. Despite difficulties at home, our local partner, Project Yesu helped him stay in school and discover a talent for chess. Project Yesu’s support through a scholarship, medical care, and counseling has instilled great confidence in Bwire that he can become a doctor. Bwire’s story is a beautiful example of the restorative power of education.

Hello, I am Bwire. I am currently in Senior Six, taking Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and the subsidiary subject of ICT at Musana Vocational High School. I am a Ugandan by birth and one of the beneficiaries of Project Yesu.
I joined the Advanced Level with a science combination and a zeal to become a surgical doctor. All my prayers and efforts are to get the necessary grades that will enable me to do such a course at the university.
I remember one year before Project Yesu, life was not easy; schools were very far, and I would walk to school late and tired every day. School fees were hard to get, and I had thought of quitting school at a tender age.
Project Yesu embarked on paying my school fees, which gave me a reason why I should study, and I have really seen and am still seeing the value of education because of it. Project Yesu has watched me grow. It has also helped me discover a talent for playing chess. I had never thought of playing such games. Project Yesu provides me with yearly medication through dental and clinical camps. It has groomed me into an upright being through the guidance and counseling sessions they organize every term. Above all, Project Yesu pays my termly school fees, which they have paid from Primary Four to now. I am at a better school, which has eased life for my parents financially so they can help my other siblings.
Nevertheless, a few things at home affect my studies. It is not easy to get all school requirements and other necessities needed at school on time, which greatly affects my studies and ability to report back to school on the first day. But this will not deter me from working hard to achieve my dream.
I have gained a lot from Project Yesu. I have attained education up to this level, which, at first, I never dreamt of. I have been exposed to so much. For example, we went to chess competitions in Kampala, where we visited new places and even made new friends. I have also gotten Project Yesu as a new family to me. And besides that, I have been getting medical attention whenever I am sick. All these benefits are a driving force to my dream of one day becoming a surgeon because I now have fewer things to worry about, like being sent home for fees, all thanks to Project Yesu.
May the Lord Bless You Abundantly.
