Suubi means hope — and the school will give children in the Eastern village of Musima, Uganda, an opportunity to learn and chase their Dreams in their hometown for the first time.
Suubi Academy will be built on two acres of land and will include multiple classroom blocks, WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene) facilities like bathrooms, a kitchen, a multi-purpose hall, a sports field, and an administration building.
The school can serve up to 700 students from pre-school to seventh grade every year. Since acquiring the land in 2019, our local partner, Project Yesu, has been working to make Suubi Academy a reality — and we’re confident that together, we can create an inspiring school environment that challenges and helps every child grow.
How much will Suubi Academy cost?
Suubi Academy will cost nearly $300,000 — a meaningful and priceless investment in the future. Here’s how we can tackle it together.

We're striving to fund and build Suubi Academy in 2024.
Our local partner, Project Yesu, is leading the building process. From sourcing the land, contracting the local engineering firm that designed the school, and managing the ongoing construction process, Project Yesu will own the project. We’re proud to help Project Yesu bring Musima, Uganda, Suubi Academy, a school that is truly theirs — handcrafted by local citizens to suit their community’s needs. In every partnership, we provide local organizations the support they need, while letting their local community guide the vision.
Upon completion, Suubi Academy will serve up to 700 children from pre-school to seventh grade every year. We can’t wait to help each one of them learn and grow into bright leaders in their village of Musima, Uganda.
Suubi Academy will include multiple classroom blocks, WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene) facilities like bathrooms, a kitchen, a multi-purpose hall, a sports field, and an administration building.
Suubi Academy will be built on two acres of land. With the rising costs of building materials and labor since the COVID-19 pandemic, our latest projections predict construction of Suubi Academy has inched toward $300K. In comparison to the estimated construction costs of a new elementary school in our hometown of Fort Worth, Texas, at $44.7 million, schools in Uganda are relatively affordable.
The property and school will be fully owned and operated by Project Yesu, our local partner. With over a decade of experience providing the local village of Musima resources like food, medical services, and scholarships, Project Yesu has earned the trust of the people they serve and they are best prepared to sustain Suubi Academy for years to come.
Suubi Academy will be located in Musima, Uganda — nearly 70 miles east of Kampala, Uganda’s capital city.
We’re glad you asked. Supporters will receive regular email updates from our team and will get exclusive access to picture or video updates as Project Yesu progresses through the construction phases.
